Jonathan Lam

Jonathan is a first-gen Vietnamese American sophomore from Queens, New York City majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and double minoring in International Relations and Migrations. He is interested in criminal justice, immigration and international human rights law. On campus, a few of his involvements include serving as the Membership Chair for Cornell ACLU, Vice President for Cornell-Anti Detention Alliance and Co-Vice President for Cornell Parole Initiative.
He currently serves as a National Youth Leader and New York’s Community Organizing Coordinator for the Refugee and Migrant Rights Task Force at Amnesty International USA. He is currently a fellow with RFK Human Rights where he started an advocacy project focusing on regulating U.S transfer of weapons with Amnesty International staff. He is also a youth organizer with the ACLU of New York (NYCLU) and his activism efforts have been highlighted and featured on Teen Vogue, NBC News and ABC News.
Lastly, Jonathan has served as a U.N Youth Delegate for the U.N Summit of the Future and is going to be a youth delegate at the upcoming U.N Third Annual Member States Parties Meeting on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons Treaty.
Jonathan is a National Meinig Family National Scholar, Laidlaw Leadership and Research Scholar and Cornell’s Undergraduate Migration Scholar.
