Avery Wang
SHE/HER
Avery is sophomore from Montgomery County, MD studying English and government. She is interested in First Amendment rights, particularly how free press/speech law intersects with media institutions and journalistic practice. On campus, Avery writes for the Daily Sun, researches competency for execution with the Cornell Child Witness and Cognition Lab, and investigates the effect of electoral environments on democratic resilience as a Brooks Center for Global Democracy Fellow. She has previously worked at a local news organization, The Associated Press, and the University of Maryland's Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement. If she's not locked out in Libe with Maria, she's probably dancing in Schwartz, calling Michaela, or rewatching The Newsroom.
