Salima Ali
Salima Ali graduated from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations with minors in Law and Society, Inequality Studies and Migration Studies. Outside of serving as KAPi’s VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and then President, Salima was Co-president of Social Enterprise Group at Cornell, Co-president of Cornell Welcomes Refugees, Vice President of the ILR Student Government Association, an ILR Admissions Ambassador, Director of Programming of the Caribbean Students Association and an ILR Colloquium Peer Lead. During her time at Cornell, she spent her breaks as an Employment Law credit intern with Blackboard, a High Road Fellow at The Foundry Buffalo, a Human Resources intern at an industrial equipment supplier, a volunteer at The Alhambra-U.S. Chamber and a legal research intern at The ILR Labor and Employment Law Program. She is especially proud of her Senior Honors Thesis: "Indo-Caribbean Immigrants in New York City: History of Indentured Servitude and its Influence on Social Mobility."
She is taking gap years before attending law school and is currently working at Ernst & Young as a People Advisory Services Staff Consultant.
Salima is beyond grateful to KAPi for connecting her with various resources that improved her Cornell experience, introducing her to two of her best friends, Sasha Zuberi & Ximena Chafloque, and allowing her to be a part of a one of a kind lineage including KAPi presidents Laura Holland and Spencer Thieme.
