Nkemdirim “Kem” Obodo
Kem is simultaneously a senior double majoring in Sociology and Government with a minor in Law and Society and a 2L at Cornell Law School. She has a wide range of interests in the law, such as civil rights law, international human rights law, and immigration law. On campus, she is the Social Justice chair for Cornell Catholic, the Public Relations Chair for NSA, a staff writer in the Cornell Daily Sun, and a member of Cornell Democrats. She juggles these commitments with her on-campus job at the Cornell Fitness Center. This past summer she took two summer courses (AMST 1601: Indigenous Issues in Global Perspectives and LAW 3387: International Human Rights in Theory and Practice) and simply relaxed as she prepares for law school. In her spare time, Kem likes to attend spin class, cook, and complain about the lack of decent sweet tea in the North.
