Mayanka is a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences from New York double majoring in History and Science & Technology Studies. She has a strong interest in intellectual property as a sector of the law that relates to new technologies, creative works, and business. She is the President of the Intellectual Property and Ethics Club (CIPEC) on campus. Mayanka also has an interest in environmental justice. She has previously served on a research project team entitled 'Repair and Redress: Expanding the Repertoire of Community Based Environmental Justice Practices' and recently had her piece 'The Case for Constitutionalizing Environmental Rights' published in the Georgetown Undergraduate Journal of the Environment. This semester she will be doing IP research with the UVA Idea Lab. She is a volunteer for the Ithaca Tenants Union and enjoys hiking, ceramics, hunting for vintage fashion finds, and trying daring new foods.
