Matthew Gavieta is a Senior from Jericho, NY majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) and minoring in Law & Society and Philosophy. He is the President and Founder of the Cornell Intellectual Property and Ethics Club, a professional organization currently engaged in patent inequality research and a case competition addressing accessibility on campus. He is also an Intellectual Property Analyst of a quickly growing EdTech startup called rapStudy. In his free time, Matt is involved in Cornell’s outdoor community as a guide for Outdoor Odyssey and a Rock-Climbing Instructor. Matthew is mainly interested in intellectual property and technology law & policy. This summer, Matthew worked a dual-internship between the Atlantic Council GeoTech Center and US-Asia Institute/Philippine Embassy. In the Atlantic Council, he helped organize events, worked on social media, and wrote articles and reports on technology policy and intellectual property. For the US-Asia Institute and Philippine Embassy, he was selected as an IMPACT! Fellow to strengthen ties between the US and Philippines.
