Katy Jensen
Katy is a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in Government. Having grown up in Memphis, Tennessee — one of the creative and cultural epicenters of the nation — she has long viewed creativity as no mere attribute, but as an interdisciplinary vessel with the power to bring about profound, nuanced, and dynamic change. Her legal interests reflect her resolve to explore the intersection between advocacy and artistry — from matters of intellectual property and media to criminal justice reform. Katy is a founding member and the Creative Director of the Cornell Advocacy Project, a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization. Katy has served as an intern for Los Angeles and San Francisco District Attorney, in addition to working on NYC civil rights attorney Tahanie Aboushi's 2021 campaign for Manhattan District Attorney. She has also served as both a designer and media strategist on campaigns to counter recall attempts against progressive legal and public officials. She is a Cornell Kessler Presidential Scholar, a musician, and a devout coffee lover. When she's not getting kicked out of parking garages for skateboarding, her passions include getting lost in nature, thrift shops, and conversation.
