Sidney Malia is from Tucson, AZ and is a senior in ILR minoring in Inequality Studies. Her interests in law are heavily concentrated in Civil Rights, particularly within the injustices that plague the criminal justice system. She is also interested in working within the non profit sector. The summer before her Sophomore year, Sidney Malia worked as a High Road Fellow in Buffalo, NY. There, she worked to secure affordable housing with the Fruit Belt Community Land Trust and researched the effects of displacement and gentrification in historically Black and brown communities. Outside of KAPi, Sidney Malia writes the column “Waite, What?” for the Cornell Daily Sun. Additionally, since she is studying from home because of COVID, she started an extremely cheesy YouTube channel. Stay tuned to see if that works out for her.
